List Of Mame Bios Files

Here are all the Mame Bios files.(Cant download them here, this is for informational purposes.) I recommend getting them all. Remember these must be zipped up and placed in the Roms folder.

I recommend Getting Mame Plus for most everything. But its nice to have both Mame+ and Mame 32. They both have there issues in different areas it seems. Zinc for 3d PSX arcade games like Street Fighter EXs. And Nebula for PGM games like Knights of Valour 2.

Seriously? I'm sure that I saw Acclaim PSX on the MAME files here at CoolROM.

I've seen him take down quite a few external links, including one of my own when I first came here. :D I think certain BIOS files are ESA-protected or something.

Still, though, they're quite easy to find. Just copy and paste some of Mjishl's list into Google and hit search, and you should find a site or two.

Actually, I've looked through the MAME bios, and the only thing I have to say is that of all of them, there are 2 that don't seem to work properly. Those two are...

I don't know why they don't work. But after I put them in the directory with the rest of the bios and rom files, those were the only two that wouldn't work. And I get the feeling that some of the more intensive neo geo games might need the Hyper Neo Geo bios to work, such as SF 3rd Strike, which I have yet to play on my PC...

Streetfighter, any of them, isn't a NeoGeo Game, it's CapCom ;) ....

Im not exactly sure. Acclaim maybe? I suggest just getting them all. That way you always know it isnt the Bios files that are the problem if there is one.

Thought I should mention, though I don't know whether this bios is new or not. But apparently, there is a new bios called "American Laser Games BIOS" (alg_bios.zip).

I was wondering if anyone know anything about this? Should I get it? Will it make Mame32 crash?
Sorry, I'm a new user of Mame, before I only used Kawaks.

I also found "Konami System 573 BIOS" (sys573.zip) which wasn't inside the list. Should I get this as well?

Hi.
I am technologically challenged. I am using MAME Plus. How do I change the controls? I am trying to get the games to work with my PS2 controller through the usb port. Or, I would even settle for just using the keyboard, but I don't like the way the buttons are set up for any of the games I play.

what bios do i need for area51?
If you are wondering what BIOS file(s) you may need for a MAME Rom, do a wikipedia search for the game in question. They usually have system specs listed, and that will help getting some of the ROMs to work.

the "bioses" are to make your roms compatable with your emulator
